A particularly exciting novelty awaits guests of the Schmittenhöhe in Winter 2019/2020. The new zellamseeXpress connects the Schmitten with the Glemm Valley. Waiting for skiers in Viehhofen is a modern entrance to the ski area with parking spaces, a bus connection, a sport shop, cashier area and InfoCentre. The 10 gondola zellamseeXpress lift carries 2,800 skiers per hour quickly and comfortably up to the mountain.
From 7 December 2019
You can access the Schmittenhöhe family- and panorama ski resort by zellamseeXpress from yet another valley. The first section of the zellamseeXpress leads directly from the Glemm Valley to the winter sports and hiking paradise with its spectacular panoramic view to over 30 three thousand metres high mountains. Starting from the new lower terminus, the ski bus takes you also to the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn within a few minutes. The straightforward and comfortable connecting slope Piste 68, with natural snow, takes you back directly to the lower terminus of the zellamseeXpress in Viehhofen from where you take the lift uphill to the Schmittenhöhe.
First step of the connection between Viehhofen and Schmittenhöhe was the building of section II of the zellamseeXpress opened in winter 2016/2017. Next and most important step is the building of section I with valley station in the middle of Viehhofen. Starting in winter 2019/2020 a modern entrance to the ski area with bus connection, a sport shop, cashier area and InfoCentre is waiting for you. At the mountain station you will enjoy a unique view of the Zeller Lake and the surrounding panorama.
To get back to Viehhofen you can choose between the descent with the section I of the zellamseeXpress or one of the two ski routes starting at the middle station. Both lead to the bus stop "Förstereck" at the end of Viehhofen.
Ski bus network you get in a few minutes either to the center of Viehhofen or the Schönleitenbahn. The ski bus is for free with a valid ski pass.
